Men’s socks in rib and stocking st



Size: 38/40 - 41/43 – 44/46
Foot length: 24 - 27 - 30 cm.
Leg length: 35 - 37 - 38 cm.

Materials: 150 g for all sizes colour no 542, green mix

DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES size 2.5 mm - or size needed to get 26 sts x 34 rows in stocking st = 10 x 10 cm.

HEEL DECREASES:
Row 1 (= RS): Work row until 6-7-7 sts remain, slip next st as if to K, K1, psso, turn piece.
Row 2 (= WS): Work row until 6-7-7 sts remain, slip next st as if to P, P1, psso, turn piece.
Row 3 (= RS): Work row until 5-6-6 sts remain, slip next st as if to K, K1, psso, turn piece.
Row 4 (= WS): Work row until 5-6-6 sts remain, slip next st as if to P, P1, psso, turn piece.
Continue dec like this with 1 less st before each dec until there are 14-14-16 sts on needle.

SOCKS:
Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 75-80-85 sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm with 1 thread Fabel. K 2 rounds and now continue in rib K2/P3 until piece measures 20-22-23 cm. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Now dec all P3 to P2 = 60-64-68 sts. Continue in rib K2/P2. When piece measures 22-23-24 cm continue in stocking st AT THE SAME TIME dec 6 sts evenly on first round = 54-58-62 sts.
When piece measures 30-31-32 cm keep the first 24-26-28 sts on needle for heel and slip the last 30-32-34 sts on a stitch holder (= mid upper foot). Work stocking st back and forth on heel sts for 5-5.5-6 cm. Insert a marker and now measure piece from here. Now dec for heel – SEE HEEL DECREASES! After heel dec pick up 13-14-16 sts each side of heel and slip the 30-32-34 sts from stitch holder back on needle = 70-74-82 sts. Insert a marker each side of the 30-32-34 sts on upper foot. Continue in stocking st AT THE SAME TIME dec each side as follows: K tog into back of loop the last 2 sts before the 30-32-34 sts on upper foot and K tog the first 2 sts after the 30-32-34 sts on upper foot. Dec on every other round a total of 9-9-11 times = 52-56-60 sts. When piece measures 20-22-24 cm from marker on heel (= 4-5-6 cm remain) insert a marker each side with 26-28-30 sts on upper foot and under foot. Continue in stocking st AT THE SAME TIME dec for toes on each side of both markers:
Dec as follows before marker: K2 tog.
Dec as follows after marker: K2 tog into back of loop. Dec on every other round a total of 4-7-9 times and then on every round 6-3-2 times = 12-16-16 sts left on needle. On next round K2 tog all the way round. Cut the thread, pull it through remaining sts, tighten and fasten. Finished foot length = approx 24-27-30 cm.
