Size: One-size Head circumference: 56/58 cm Height: approx. 24 cm Circumference: approx. 48 cm
Materials:50 g colour, black 50 g colour , blue/brown mix
DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 3.5 mm - or size needed to get 23 sts x 30 rows in stocking st = 10 x 10 cm.
CABLE PATTERN: ROUND 1: * P 1, slip next st on cable needle behind piece, K 1, K 1 from cable needle *, repeat from *-*. ROUND 2: * P 1, K 2 *, repeat from *-*. DECREASE TIP: Dec 1 st as follows: Slip 1 st as if to K, K 1, psso. ---------------------------------------------------------
HAT: Worked in the round on double pointed needles size 3.5 mm. Loosely cast on 111 sts with black. Work cable pattern - See explanation above - for approx. 4 cm, finish with 2nd round. Then switch to blue/brown mix and continue in stocking st - At the same time on 1st round, inc 1 st = 112 sts. Work until piece measures 16 cm. On next round, insert a marker at beg of round and work as follows: * Work 12 sts, dec 1 st - read DECREASE TIP above *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 104 sts (= 8 dec sts). Move the marker upwards when working. Then work 1 round in stocking st. Repeat dec of 8 sts on round like this by dec 1 st after every 11, 10, 9 sts etc. on every other round until 8 sts remain on round. Cut the thread and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten.
