Knitted jacket



Size: S - M - L - XL - XXL - XXXL
Materials: 200-250-250-250-300-300 g colour no 1306, powder
And use:100-125-125-125-125-125 g colour no 01, off white

CIRCULAR NEEDLE (60 or 80 cm) SIZE 5.5 mm – or size needed to get 16 sts x 20 rows in stocking st with 1 thread of each yarn = 10 x 10 cm.
CIRCULAR NEEDLE (60 or 80 cm) SIZE 4.5 mm - for edges in garter st.
MOTHER-OF-PEARL BUTTONS NO 522: 8 pieces for all sizes

GARTER ST (back and forth on needle):
K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K.

INCREASE TIP:
Inc 1 st by making 1 YO inside 1 edge st, on next row work YO twisted (i.e. work in back loop of st instead front) to avoid holes.

BUTTONHOLE:
Dec for buttonholes on right band. 1 buttonhole = K tog second and third st from edge and make 1 YO.
NOTE: Dec for last buttonhole when 2 rows remain on band before neck.
Dec for buttonholes when piece measures:
SIZE S: 2, 11, 19, 28, 36 and 45 cm.
SIZE M: 2, 11, 20, 29, 38 and 47 cm.
SIZE L: 2, 12, 21, 30, 39 and 48 cm.
SIZE XL: 2, 12, 21, 31, 40 and 50 cm.
SIZE XXL: 2, 12, 22, 32, 42 and 51 cm.
SIZE XXXL: 2, 13, 23, 33, 43 and 53 cm.

BACK PIECE:
Worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 64-70-78-86-96-106 sts (incl 1 edge st in each side) on circular needle size 4.5 mm with 1 thread BabyAlpaca Silk and 1 thread Kid-Silk (= 2 threads). Work 2 ridges in GARTER ST - see explanation above. Switch to circular needle size 5.5 mm and continue in stocking st with 1 edge st in garter st in each side. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Inc 1 st in each side when piece measures 4-4-5-5-6-6 cm – read INCREASE TIP. Repeat inc every 4½-4½-4½-4½-5½-5½ cm 7-7-7-7-6-6 more times = 80-86-94-102-110-120 sts. When piece measures 39-40-41-42-43-44 cm, cast off 1 st to mark the armholes at beg of the next 2 rows = 78-84-92-100-108-118 sts. When piece measures 52-54-56-58-60-62 cm, cast off the middle 22-22-22-24-24-24 sts for neck and finish each shoulder separately. Continue to cast off 2 sts on next row from neck = 26-29-33-36-40-45 sts remain on the shoulder. Switch to circular needle size 4.5 mm when piece measures 53-55-57-59-61-63 cm, and work 1 ridge. Cast off, piece measures approx. 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm.

LEFT FRONT PIECE:
Cast on 36-39-43-47-52-57 sts (incl 1 edge st in the side and 4 band sts towards mid front) on circular needle size 4.5 mm with 1 thread BabyAlpaca Silk + 1 thread Kid-Silk. Work 2 ridges. Switch to circular needle size 5.5 mm and work in stocking st but work 1 edge st in the side and 4 band sts towards mid front in garter st until finished measurements.
Inc 1 st in the side when piece measures 4-4-5-5-6-6 cm. Repeat inc every 4½-4½-4½-4½-5½-5½ cm 7-7-7-7-6-6 more times =
44-47-51-55-59-64 sts. When piece measures 39-40-41-42-43-44 cm, cast off 1 st to mark the armhole at beg of next row from RS. When piece measures 46-48-49-51-52-54 cm, slip 9-9-9-10-10-10 sts on 1 stitch holder for neck (slip them on the stitch holder at the end of RS without working them first). Then cast off at beg of every row from neck (= WS): 2 sts 2 times, 1 st 4 times = 26-29-33-36-40-45 sts remain on shoulder. Switch to circular needle size 4.5 mm when piece measures 53-55-57-59-61-63 cm, and work 1 ridge. Cast off, piece measures approx. 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm.

RIGHT FRONT PIECE:
Work as left front piece but reversed. In addition dec for BUTTONHOLES on band - see explanation above.

SLEEVE:
Worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 38-40-42-44-44-46 sts (incl 1 edge st in each side) on circular needle size 4.5 mm with 1 thread BabyAlpaca Silk and 1 thread Kid-Silk. Work 2 ridges. Switch to circular needle size 5.5 mm and continue in stocking st with 1 edge st in garter st in each side. When piece measures 8-8-7-7-7-7 cm, inc 1 st in each side. Repeat inc every 7½-6-6-5-4-3½ cm 5-6-6-7-8-9 more times = 50-54-56-60-62-66 sts. When piece measures 48-47-46-44-43-41 cm (shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of broader shoulder width), switch to circular needle size 4.5 mm and work 1 ridge. Cast off, piece measures approx. 49-48-47-45-44-42 cm.

POCKET FLAP:
Cast on 18-18-18-20-20-20 sts on needle size 4.5 mm with 1 thread BabyAlpaca Silk and 1 thread Kid-Silk. Work in garter st until piece measures 5-5-6-6-7-7 cm, cast off. Knit another pocket flap.

ASSEMBLY:
Sew the shoulder seams.
NECK EDGE: Knit up approx. 75 to 80 sts around the neck incl sts on stitch holders at the front with circular needle size 4.5 mm. K 4 rows and cast off with K from WS.
Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams in one inside 1 edge st. Place pocket flaps on front piece approx. 9-10-11-12-13-14 cm from bottom edge and 8-9-10-11-12-13 cm from mid front (try the jacket on and place where wanted), sew pocket flaps in upper edge with sts. Sew on buttons.
