Size: one-size
Measurements: approx. 28 x 105 cm
Materials:
300 g colour no 03, dark brown
50 g colour no 27, auburn/brown

STRAIGHT NEEDLES SIZE 8 mm - or size needed to get 10 sts x 16 rows in English rib = 10 x 10 cm.
ANGULAR BUFFELHORN BUTTONS NO 538: 5 pieces

ENGLISH RIB (back and forth on needle):
ROW 1 (= RS): K 1, * K 2 tog, 1 YO, slip 1 st as if to P *, repeat from *-* until 3 sts remain, K 2 tog and then K last st.
ROW 2 (= WS): K 1, * 1 YO, slip 1 st as if to P, K tog YO and slipped st *, repeat from *-* until 2 sts remain, finish with 1 YO, slip 1 st as if to P and K last st.
ROW 3 (= RS): K 1, * K tog YO and slipped st, 1 YO, slip 1 st as if to P *, repeat from *-* until 1 YO and 2 sts remain, K tog YO and slipped st, K last st.
Repeat 2nd and 3rd row upwards.

ENGLISH RIB ST:
When counting the sts, the YOs are not counted as sts.

PONCHO:
Cast on 43 sts on needle size 8 mm with auburn/brown Eskimo. Work ENGLISH RIB - see explanation above (after 1st row, 29 sts remain on needle - READ ENGLISH RIB ST). AT THE SAME TIME after 2nd row, switch to dark brown. Continue until piece measures approx. 104 cm - finish after 2nd row in English rib. Work next row as follows from RS: K 1, * K tog YO and slipped st, P 1 *, repeat from *-* until 1 YO and 2 sts remain, K tog YO and slipped st and K last st. Then loosely cast off sts with K over K and P over P.

ASSEMBLY:
Sew cast on edge tog with edge on one long side edge to edge to avoid a chunky seam (opposite long side now forms a tip mid front). Sew on buttons as decoration evenly along the seam.
