STRAIGHT NEEDLES SIZE 12 mm – or size needed to get 8 sts in garter st = width 10 cm.
SHORT ROWS (applies to neck warmer): Work short rows every 4-3 cm as follows: Row 1 (= RS): K 10-11, tighten thread and turn piece. Row 2 (= WS): K 10-11. Row 3: K all sts Row 4: K all sts --------------------------------------------------------
NECK WARMER: Worked back and forth from side to side. Loosely cast on 20-21 sts on needles size 12 mm with Polaris. K all rows until piece measures 4 cm (1st row = RS). Then work SHORT ROWS - read explanation above - every 4-3 cm (measured at beg of rows from RS). Loosely cast off all sts when piece measures 48-52 cm vertically measured at the end of a RS row (along neck edge). Sew cast on edge and cast off edge tog in front loop of outermost sts. --------------------------------------------------------
HEAD BAND: Worked back and forth on needle. Loosely cast on 8-9 sts on needles size 12 mm with Polaris. K all rows. Loosely cast off all sts when piece measures 46-48 cm. Sew cast on edge and cast off edge tog in front loop of outermost sts.
