Knitted gloves with lace pattern



Size: One-size
Materials: 100 g colour no 13, denim blue

DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 3.5 mm - or size needed to get 22 sts x 30 rows in stocking st = 10 x 10 cm.
DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 3 mm – for rib

PATTERN:
See diagram A-3. Diagram shows 1 repetition of pattern.

RIGHT GLOVE:
Worked in the round on double pointed needles.
Cast on 50 sts on double pointed needles size 3 mm and work rib = K 1/P 1 for 8 cm. Switch to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm, K 1 round while at the same time dec 8 sts evenly = 42 sts. Continue as follows: Diagram A-3 over the first 21 sts (= on top of hand) and K the other 21 sts (= inside hand) - AT THE SAME TIME insert a marker in the second K st inside hand (= thumb st). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When work measure a total of 10 cm, beg inc for thumb by making 1 YO on each side of thumb st, on next round K the YOs twisted to avoid holes. Repeat inc for thumb every other round 5 more times (inc on each side of all thumb sts, i.e. thumbs sts inc by 2 sts after every inc) = 13 thumb sts and 54 sts in total. When piece measures 14 cm in total, slip the 13 thumb sts on a stitch holder and cast on 1 new st over stitch holder = 42 sts. Then work until A-3 has been worked, then continue with K over all sts until piece measures 17 cm.
Now keep the first 5 sts on needle, slip the next 32 sts on a stitch holder and keep the last 5 sts on needle. Work the little finger.

LITTLE FINGER:
= 10 sts, in addition cast on 2 new sts towards the hand = 12 sts. K in the round until finger measures approx. 6 cm. On next round K all sts tog 2 by 2. Cut the thread and pull it through the remaining sts and tighten tog.

HAND:
Slip sts from stitch holder back on the needles, knit in addition up 3 sts towards the little finger = 35 sts. K 2 rounds. Keep the 3 sts that were knit up towards the little finger + 5 sts on top of hand and 5 sts inside the hand on the needle. Slip the remaining 22 sts back on the stitch holder. Work the ring finger.

RING FINGER:
= 13 sts, cast on 1 new st towards sts on stitch holder = 14 sts. K in the round until finger measures approx. 7.5 cm. On next round K all sts tog 2 by 2. Cut the thread and pull it through the remaining sts and tighten tog.

MIDDLE FINGER:
Slip 5 sts on top of hand and 5 sts inside the hand back on needle, knit in addition up 3 sts towards the ring finger and cast on 1 new st towards sts on stitch holders = 14 sts. K in the round until finger measures approx. 8.5 cm. On next round K all sts tog 2 by 2. Cut the thread and pull it through the remaining sts and tighten tog.

INDEX FINGER:
Slip the remaining 12 sts from stitch holder back on the needles, knit in addition up 3 sts towards the middle finger = 15 sts. K in the round until finger measures approx. 7.5 cm. On next round K all sts tog 2 by 2. Cut the thread and pull it through the remaining sts and tighten tog.

THUMB:
Slip the sts over thumb gusset on the needles and knit in addition up 3 sts along the edge behind the thumb sts = 16 sts. K in the round until finger measures approx. 6 cm. On next round K all sts tog 2 by 2. Cut the thread and pull it through the remaining sts and tighten tog.

LEFT GLOVE:
Work as right glove but inc for thumb gusset are done on each side of next to last K st on the round.
When working the little finger, work as follows: Slip the first 16 sts on a stitch holder (= top of hand), keep the next 10 sts on the needle and slip the last 16 sts on a stitch holder (= inside the hand).
