Knitted slippers in garter st

Size: 23/25 - 26/28 - 29/31 - 32/34 - 35/37 Foot length: 15 - 17 - 18 - 20 - 22 cm
Materials:100-100-150-150-150 colour no 10, red.
STRAIGHT NEEDLES SIZE 3.5 mm - or size needed to get 20 sts x 40 rows in garter st = 10 x 10 cm.
GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. --------------------------------------------------------
SLIPPER: The slipper is worked in one and then sewn tog on top of foot and mid back when finished. Beg at the top of leg. Cast on 21-22-23-25-27 sts on needle size 3.5 mm with Alaska and work in GARTER ST - see explanation above. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 8-8-8-9-9 cm, cast on new sts at the end of every other row (i.e. in one side) as follows: 2 sts 3-4-5-6-7 times and then 1 st 3-4-3-3-3 times = 30-34-36-40-44 sts. When piece measures 17-18-20-21-22 cm, cast off sts at the beg of every row in the same side as sts were cast on: 1 st 3-4-3-3-3 times and then 2 sts 3-4-5-6-7 times = 21-22-23-25-27 sts. Cast off when piece measures 28-30-32-34-36 cm.
ASSEMBLY: Fold the slipper double and sew tog mid back in front loop of outermost sts. Sew the same way both at the front on top of foot but leave approx. 3-3-3-4-4 cm at the top of leg for split.
