Knitted scarf in garter st



Width: approx. 22 cm
Length: approx. 150 cm

Materials: 50 g colour no 905p, salt and pepper
50 g colour no 400, black
50 g colour no 200, grey

CIRCULAR NEEDLE SIZE 5 mm - or size needed to get 19 sts x 38 rows in garter st = 10 x 10 cm.

STRIPES:
* 4 rows salt and pepper, 3 rows grey, 3 rows black, 6 rows salt and pepper, 3 rows black, 5 rows grey, 8 rows salt and pepper, 3 rows grey, 5 rows black *, repeat from *-*.

SCARF:
Worked lengthwise. The piece is worked back and forth on circular needle because of no of sts.
Cast on 342 sts on circular needle size 5 mm with salt and pepper. K 1 row while at the same time K tog every 5th and 6th st= 285 sts (this is done to make the cast on edge more elastic). Continue K back and forth on needle in STRIPES - see explanation above, until piece measures approx. 21 cm. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
Work 1 more row in the same colour as last row - while AT THE SAME TIME inc 1 st in every 5th st = 342 sts (this is done to make the cast off edge more elastic). Cast off in the same colour.
