scarf in garter st



Size: One size
Width: 22 cm
Length: 150 cm

Materials:150 g colour, beige/blue mix

CIRCULAR NEEDLE SIZE 5 mm - or needle size needed to get 19 sts x 38 rows in garter stitch = 10 x 10 cm.

GARTER ST (back and forth on needles): K all rows.

SCARF:
Scarf is worked lengthwise, back and forth on a circular needle in order to fit in all sts. Cast on 342 sts on circular needle 5 mm with Delight. Knit 2 rows in garter stitch – see explanation above - AT THE SAME TIME on 2nd row knit tog every 5th and 6th st = 285 sts (this is so that cast on edge should not be tight). Continue with garter stitch until piece measures 21 cm (or to desired width). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
Work 2 rows garter st, AT THE SAME TIME on first row inc 1 st in every 5th st = 342 sts. Cast off.
