Knitted slippers in moss st with crochet edge and flower



Size: 35/37 - 38/39 - 40/42
Foot measurements: 22 - 24 - 27 cm
Materials: sunset: 50 g for all sizes
off white: 50 g for all sizes

POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 4 mm - or size needed to get 19 sts x 31 rows in moss st with 2 threads Fabel = 10 x 10 cm.
CROCHET HOOK SIZE 4 mm - for crochet edge and flower.

MOSS ST:
Row 1: * K 1, P 1 *, repeat from *-*.
Row 2: K over P and P over K. Repeat 2nd row upwards.

INCREASE TIP:
Inc 1 st in 1st st at beg of row by working 2 sts in the same st as follows:
If 2nd st is K, K 1 in front loop of 1st st and P 1 in back loop of same st.
If 2nd st is P, P 1 in front loop of 1st st and K 1 in back loop of same st.

DECREASE TIP:
Dec 1 st at the beg of row by working the first 2 sts tog as follows:
If the 3rd st is P, K the first 2 sts tog.
If the 3rd st is K, P the first 2 sts tog.

SLIPPER:
Worked from the toe and up to heel. Cast on 19-21-23 sts on needle size 4 mm with 1 thread of each colour. On 1st row work in MOSS ST - read explanation above. On next row continue with moss st - AT THE SAME TIME at beg of row inc 1 st - READ INCREASE TIP! Repeat inc at beg of every row a total of 40-44-48 times = 59-65-71 sts on needle. Piece measures approx. 13-14-16 cm.
On next row, work as follows: Work the first 29-32-35 sts on row in moss st (without inc), slip these sts on a stitch holder, cast off next st (= middle st), work the other sts in moss st = 29-32-35 sts on needle.

LEFT PART:
= 29-32-35 sts. Continue with moss st over these sts - AT THE SAME TIME dec 1 st in each side of the left part - READ DECREASE TIP, repeat dec at beg of every row a total of 25-28-31 times = 4 sts remain.
Then dec as follows: K 2 tog 2 times = 2 sts remain, turn. K these 2 tog = 1 st remains, cut and pull the thread through the last st. Piece measures approx. 21-23-26 cm in total.

RIGHT PART:
Slip sts from stitch holder back on needle and work the same way as on left part.

ASSEMBLY:
Fold the slipper double on the middle (along the dotted line - see chart), sew tog in front loop of outermost st from point a to point b (mid under foot), continue to point c (mid back of slipper) - but stop approx. 2½ cm before point c, cut and fasten the thread.

CROCHET EDGE:
Work 1 round with 2 threads off white on hook size 4 mm around the opening for foot as follows: Beg mid back and work 1 ch, * 1 dc, skip approx. 1 cm, 3 ch *, repeat from *-* along the entire upper edge, finish with 1 sl st in 1st dc from beg of round, cut and fasten the threads. Fold the upper edge down - see chart - and fasten the fold with a small stitch in point c.

FLOWER:
Crochet 4 ch with 2 threads off white and form a ring with 1 sl st in 1st ch.
ROUND 1: Work 1 ch, 10 dc in ch-ring, finish with 1 sl st in 1st dc.
ROUND 2: Work * 4 ch, 1 tr in 1st ch made, skip 1 dc, work 1 sl st in next dc *, repeat from *-* 4 more times (5 times in total) - but when repeating last time work 1 sl st in 1st ch from beg of round = 5 leaves. Cut and fasten the threads. Sew the flower at the top mid front on slipper.
