DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES and CIRCULAR NEEDLE (40 cm) SIZE 5 mm – or size needed to get 17 sts x 22 rows in stocking st with 1 thread Alpaca and 1 thread Kid-Silk = 10 x 10 cm.

GARTER ST (in the round on circular needle): 1 ridge = 2 rounds * K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*.

NECK WARMER: Piece is worked in the round with RS outwards but is photographed with WS outwards. Cast on 112 sts on circular needle size 5 mm with 1 thread Alpaca and 1 thread Kid-Silk. Work 3 ridges in GARTER ST – see explanation above, then continue in stocking st in the round. When piece measures 36 cm, work 3 ridges, then cast off. Piece measures approx. 38 cm. -------------------------------------------------------
HAT: Worked in the round, top down. Cast on 10 sts with 1 thread Alpaca and 1 thread Kid-Silk and distribute them on 4 double pointed needles size 5 mm. Work A.1 (= 5 repetitions on the round). Insert 1 marker between every repetition. Switch to circular needle size 5 mm when there are enough sts. When A.1 has been worked, there are 110 sts on needle. K 1 round while AT THE SAME TIME dec 16 sts evenly = 94 sts. Work in garter st for 3 cm, cast off. Piece measures approx. 24 cm. Pull a thread through the 10 sts at the top of hat, tighten tog and fasten.
