Materials: 100 g colour no 53, anthracite 50 g colour no 01, off white
DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES and CIRCULAR NEEDLE (40 cm) SIZE 3.5 mm - or size needed to get 22 sts x 30 rows in stocking st = 10 x 10 cm.
CIRCULAR NEEDLE (40 cm) SIZE 2.5 mm – for rib.
PATTERN: See diagrams M.1 and M.2 - diagrams are worked in stocking st. -------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------
HAT: Worked in the round. Cast on 128 sts on circular needle size 2.5 mm with anthracite. Work rib = K 2/P 2 for 4 cm. Switch to circular needle size 3.5 mm, K 1 round while at the same time dec 8 sts evenly = 120 sts. Continue with diagram M.1 (= 10 repetitions on the round). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! After diagram M.1, work diagram M.2 one time vertically. Then continue with anthracite and in stocking st until finished measurements. At the same time when piece measures 20 cm, insert 10 markers in the piece, 12 sts apart. On next round, dec 1 st after every marker by K 2 tog. Repeat dec every other round a total of 6 times, then every round a total of 5 times = 10 sts remain on needle. Cut the thread and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten. The hat measures approx. 25-26 cm vertically.
