Knitted pot holder in garter st



Measurements: approx. 19 x 16 cm
Materials:Base colour:
50 g colour no 17, off white
Additional colour:
50 g colour 06, shocking pink/colour no 07, heather/colour no 41, mustard
One pot holder weighs approx. 50 g.

STRAIGHT NEEDLES SIZE 6 mm – or size needed to get 12 sts in garter st with 3 threads = width 10 cm.

GARTER ST (back and forth on needle):
K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K.

DOUBLE THREAD TIP: Use thread from both inside and outside of the ball.

POT HOLDER:
Work entire pot holder with 3 threads. Cast on 22 sts with 1 thread base colour and 2 threads additional colour on needle size 6 mm.
Work 4 ridges in GARTER ST - see explanation above. Switch to 2 threads base colour and 1 thread additional colour and work in garter st until piece measures 15 cm. Then work next row with inlaid loop as follows: Work until 2 sts remain. Before the last 2 sts, cast on 5 new sts on needle, then K the last 2 sts on needle tog. On next row cast off all sts with K (incl the new sts for loop).
