Crochet bag



Measurements:
Width at the top: approx. 23 cm
Width at the bottom: approx. 31 cm
Height: approx. 28 cm

Materials:200 g colour no 21, light mint green
50 g colour no 16, white

CROCHET HOOK SIZE 4 mm – or size needed to get 16 tr = 10 cm in breadth.

CROCHET TIP:
Replace first tr on every round with 3 ch. Finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round.

BAG: The piece is worked top down.

Crochet 96 ch with light mint green on hook size 4 mm and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: 3 ch, 1 tr in each of the next 2 ch, * 1 ch, skip 1 ch, 1 tr in each of the next 3 ch *, repeat from *-* and finish with 1 ch, skip 1 ch and 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round = 72 tr. Turn.
ROUND 2: READ CROCHET TIP! Work 3 tr in every ch, finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round = 24 groups with 3 tr. Turn.
ROUND 3: Work 3 tr between every group with 3 tr. Turn.
ROUND 4-5: As 3rd round.
ROUND 6: Work as round 3 but between the last and first tr-group on round and between the 12th and 13th tr-group work as follows: 3 tr, 1 ch, 3 tr. 2 tr-groups have been inc = 26 tr-groups.
ROUND 7-9: As 3rd round.
ROUND 10: Work as round 3 but between the last and first tr-group on round and between the 13th and 14th tr-group work as follows: 3 tr, 1 ch, 3 tr. 2 tr-groups have been inc = 28 tr-groups.
ROUND 11: As 3rd round.
ROUND 12: Work 1 tr in every tr = 84 tr. Insert 2 markers in the piece, the first at beg of round and the second after 42 tr.
ROUND 13-26: Work 1 tr in every tr, AT THE SAME TIME on 14th, 17th, 20th and 23rd round work 2 tr in 1 tr on each side of markers (= 4 inc tr) = 100 tr.
Work bag tog in the bottom, from the inside, with dc through both layers.

RUFFLE:
Hold the bag so that bottom is away from you. Work with white on hook size 4 mm as follows:
1 dc in first tr from bag's 1st round, * 4 ch, skip 2 tr, 1 dc in next tr *, repeat from *-* and finish with 4 ch, skip 2 tr and 1 sl st in first dc.
Round 2: In every ch-loop work as follows: 1 dc, 1 htr, 3 tr, 1 htr, 1 dc. Cut and fasten the thread.

Work a similar ruffle in the bag's 10th round (on next to last round with tr-groups).

HANDLE:
Work 7 ch with light mint green, turn and work 1 dc in 2nd ch from hook, then 1 dc in each of the last 5 ch = 6 dc. Then work 1 dc in every dc back and forth and turn every row with 1 ch until handle measures 52 cm, cut the thread.

ASSEMBLY:
Fasten the handle in each side of bag. Work a row with dc with white along each long side of handle and around the opening on bag.
