CROCHET HOOK SIZE 4.5 mm – or size needed to get 12 tr x 7 rows with 1 thread of each yarn = 10 x 10 cm. MOTHER-OF-PEARL BUTTON w/HOLES, NO 522: 6-6-6-7-7-7 pieces
CROCHET INFO: Beg every row with 3 ch which replace first tr.
PATTERN: See diagram A.1.
DECREASE TIP: Work 1 tr but wait with last pull through (= 2 sts on hook), then work next tr but on last pull through, pull thread through all sts on hook = 1 st dec. ----------------------------------------------------------
BODY: The piece is worked top down. Worked back and forth from mid front. Work 83-91-99-107-115-123 ch (incl 3 ch to turn with) on hook size 4.5 mm with 1 thread Fabel, 1 thread Baby Merino and 1 thread Glitter. Work first row as follows: 1 tr in 4th ch, * skip 1 ch, 1 tr in each of the next 3 ch *, repeat from *-*, skip 1 ch and finish with 1 tr in the last 2 ch = 61-67-73-79-85-91 tr. Then work 10 rows according to A.1 (5 tr in each side for band. Band is worked with 1 tr in every tr and is not included in diagram) – read CROCHET INFO. When A.1 has been worked, there are 146-162-178-194-210-226 tr on row. Continue to work 1 tr in every tr until piece measures 20-21-22-23-24-25 cm. Work next row as follows: 24-27-30-33-36-40 tr (front piece), 8 ch (= under sleeve), skip 30-32-34-36-38-40 tr from previous row (used for sleeve later), 38-44-50-56-62-70 tr (back piece), 8 ch (under sleeve), skip 30-32-34-36-38-40 tr from previous row (used for sleeve later) and 24-27-30-33-36-40 tr (front piece). Then work 1 tr in every tr/ch = 102-114-126-138-150-166 tr. Back piece = 46-52-58-64-70-78 tr, front piece = 28-31-34-37-40-44 tr. Continue with 1 tr in every tr. When piece measures 24-26-28-30-32-34 cm, dec 4 tr evenly (do not dec over bands). READ DECREASE TIP! Repeat dec when piece measures 34-36-38-40-42-44 cm = 94-106-118-130-142-158 tr. When piece measures 40-42-44-46-48-50 cm, inc 6-6-6-6-6-7 sts evenly (do not inc over bands), repeat inc when piece measures 46-48-50-52-54-56 cm = 106-118-130-142-154-172 tr. Continue to work 1 tr in every tr until piece measures 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm, cut and fasten the thread.
SLEEVE: The sleeve is worked top down. Beg by working mid under sleeve as follows: Work 1 dc in the 5th ch of the 8 ch worked for armhole on body. Work 3 ch (= 1 tr). Then work 1 tr in each of next 3 ch. NOTE: Before continuing over the sts on upper sleeve, work 1 tr in the transition to body (to avoid hole). Then work 1 tr in every tr over sts on upper sleeve. Work 1 tr in the transition before working 1 tr in the remaining ch under sleeve = 40-42-44-46-48-50 tr. Insert 1 marker mid under sleeve. NOW MEASURE PIECE FROM HERE. Work 1 tr in every tr. When piece measures 4 cm, dec 1 st on each side of marker, read DECREASE TIP, repeat dec every 11-11-11-8-8-8 cm 3-3-3-4-4-4 more times (4-4-4-5-5-5 dec in total) = 32-34-34-36-38-38 tr. Cut and fasten the thread when sleeve measures 45-45-44-44-43-43 cm – NOTE – shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of larger neck and broader shoulder width.
POCKET FLAP: Work 17 ch (incl 3 ch to turn with) on hook size 4.5 mm with 2 threads Baby Merino and 1 thread Glitter. Work first row as follows: 1 tr in 4th ch from hook, then work 1 tr in every ch = 15 tr. Then work 1 tr in every tr until pocket flap measures 8 cm. Cut and fasten the thread. Crochet another pocket flap. Sew pocket flaps on to front piece, approx. 10 cm from bottom edge. Fasten the pocket flaps only in the upper edge.
CROCHET EDGE: Work an edge around the entire opening on jacket with 2 threads Baby Merino and 1 thread Glitter as follows: 1 dc, * 3 ch, 1 tr in 1st ch, skip approx. 1-1½ cm, 1 dc *, repeat from *-* and finish with 1 sl st in first dc. Work the same way at the bottom of the sleeves.
Sew 6-6-6-7-7-7 buttons on to left front piece, bottom button approx. 8 cm from bottom edge, the top button 2 cm from upper edge. Place the other buttons evenly between the bottom and top button. Button the jacket in the crochet edge.
