Knitted beret with crochet flower and scarf in garter st



BERET:
Size: 3/5 - 6/9 - 10/12 years
Head circumference: 48/50 - 51/53 - 54/56 cm

Materials:
50-100-100 g colour no 16, grey purple
And use:
For all sizes use:
50 g colour no 14, purple
50 g colour no 26, light old pink
50 g colour no 27, old pink
And use:
1 spool no 02, silver

DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES and CIRCULAR NEEDLE (40 cm) SIZE 6 mm - or size needed to get 15 sts x 20 rows in stocking st with Symphony = 10 x 10 cm.
CIRCULAR NEEDLE (40 cm) SIZE 2.5 mm – for rib.
CROCHET HOOK SIZE 3 mm - for flower.

SCARF:
Size: 3/5 - 6/9 - 10/12 years
Measurements: 12 x 70 - 13 x 80 - 14 x 90 cm

Materials:
100 g for all sizes in colour no 16, grey purple

STRAIGHT NEEDLES SIZE 6 mm - or size needed to get 15 sts x 30 rows in garter st = 10 x 10 cm.

BERET:
Worked in the round from bottom up.
Cast on 120-132-144 sts on circular needle size 2.5 mm with purple Baby Merino. Work rib = K 2/P 2 for 3 cm. Switch to circular needle size 6 mm and Symphony. Work next round as follows: * K 2 tog, K 1 *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 80-88-96 sts. Insert 8 markers in the piece, 10-11-12 sts apart. * Work 1 round in stocking st, then 1 round in stocking st while at the same time inc 1 st after all markers (inc by working 2 sts in 1 st) *, repeat from *-* 3 more times = 112-120-128 sts (move the markers upwards when working). Continue in stocking st until piece measures 10-11-12 cm. On next round, dec 1 st after every marker by K 2 tog. Repeat dec every other round 4-5-6 more times and then every round 6-6-6 times = 24 sts remain on needle. On next round, K all sts tog 2 by 2 = 12 sts. Cut the thread and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten.
The hat measures approx. 18-20-22 cm vertically.

CROCHET FLOWER:
Work on hook size 3 mm with Baby Merino + Glitter.
Crochet 4 ch with light old pink + silver and form a ring with 1 sl st in 1st ch.
ROUND 1: 1 ch, 8 dc in ch-ring, finish with 1 sl st in first dc.
ROUND 2: Work 6 ch (= 1 tr + 3 ch), * 1 tr in next dc, 3 ch *, repeat from *-* a total of 7 times, finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round = 8 ch-loops.
ROUND 3: 1 ch, then work as follows in every ch-loop: 1 dc, 1 htr, 3 tr, 1 htr and 1 dc, finish round with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round = 8 leaves, cut the Baby Merino thread.
ROUND 4 (switch to old pink + silver): Work 7 ch, * 1 dc between the next 2 leaves, 6 ch *, repeat from *-* a total of 7 times, finish round with 1 sl st in 1st ch from beg of round = 8 ch-loops.
ROUND 5: 1 ch, then work as follows in every ch-loop: 1 dc, 1 htr, 5 tr, 1 htr and 1 dc, finish round with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round = 8 leaves, cut the Baby Merino thread.
ROUND 6 (switch to purple + silver): Work 10 ch, * 1 dc between the next 2 leaves, 9 ch *, repeat from *-* a total of 7 times, finish round with 1 sl st in 1st ch from beg of round = 8 ch-loops.
ROUND 7: 1 ch, then work as follows in every ch-loop: 1 dc, 1 htr, 1 tr, 5 dtr, 1 tr, 1 htr and 1 dc, finish round with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round = 8 leaves. Cut and fasten the threads.

Sew the flower on to the hat.

SCARF:
Cast on 18-20-22 sts on needle size 6 mm with Symphony. K back and forth on all rows (= garter st). When piece measures 12-15-18 cm, divide the piece in two for holes as follows: Work back and forth over the first 9-10-11 sts until piece measures 18-21-24 cm. Slip the sts on a stitch holder. Then K back and forth over the remaining 9-10-11 sts until the 2 pieces are the same length (hole should measure approx. 6 cm). Slip sts from stitch holder back on needle and continue in garter st over all sts until piece measures 70-80-90 cm. Cast off.
